Correctional Officers are instrumental to the success of the operations in the Correctional Center. Work is hands-on and interactive with different opportunities of growth. Correctional Officers are responsible for the supervision, safety, and security of inmates and the correctional center itself.
The Correctional Officer position offers a great staring wage of $23.77 per hour.
No experience necessary, just your willingness to learn. We have full training that will teach you everything that you need to know. As a Correctional Officer, you would be expected to carry out procedures and activities to ensure the security and well-being of persons being held in the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
Basic Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED and at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including a medical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Knowledge of dealing with people, multi-tasking, legalities of restricted environment, ability to successful pass licensing for Correctional Officer Certificate, and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have availability to work rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

STATUS AND HOURS: Full-time, benefit eligible – based on a 40 hours per week. 12.25 hours shifts, days, evenings, and rotating shifts available. Day shift is from 6:45 am to 7:00 pm. Evening shift is from 6:45 pm to 7:00 am. Rotating shifts switch from days to evenings every 28 days.
