What

Inmate visitation is available for friends and family to visit individuals incarcerated at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center. Visitation sessions are limited to a maximum of 20 minutes each and begin on the hour, at 20 and at 40 minutes after the hour.

Where

Inmate visitation is available via video both onsite and offsite:

  • Onsite: 1701 North Washington St. Grand Forks, ND 58203
  • Offsite: Worldwide via the internet

When

Visitation is able to be scheduled at many times of the day seven days a week subject to availability of equipment and daily activities. No visitation will begin before 8:00 a.m. or be allowed after 10:00 p.m. Availability on any given day is determined by availability of inmate and equipment within living quarters. Onsite visitation is also limited by the number of lobby kiosks available at any time. Onsite visitation is currently limited to be scheduled to the following hours:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 7:30–9:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday afternoons: 2:00-4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 1:30–4:30 p.m.

How

All visitors must register and require approval prior to being able to visit with each inmate. Please allow up to 24 hours for approval process.

  • Registration can be done in either of the following ways:
    • Onsite at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Using the inmate visitation kiosks
    • Create an account by visiting www.homewav.com
    • Or, downloading the free mobile app on your phone.  (Select "Sign up here" option)
  • Approval Process:
    • Must include a clear picture of the registered visitor
    • Must include a clear legible picture of visitor’s driver’s license – we must be able to read and verify.
    • Verification of no existing reasons to keep individuals separate
    • Incomplete, inaccurate, out of focus pictures, are reasons for denial and will prolong the approval process.  Please double check your information is accurate.
  • Suspension/Termination of access:
    • Visitors found to be in violation of the visitation rules will have their access either suspended or terminated completely, dependent upon the violation.  It is the visitors responsibility to read and follow the rules as agreed to when they create their account.
  • Schedule an on-site visit:
    • All on-site visits MUST be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance via HomeWav.com, HomeWav mobile app, or HomeWav Visitor Support
    • Click "Schedule on-site visit" and choose available time in green.  (Inmate MUST accept/decline requested time in order for the visit to be scheduled)
    • Receive confirmation. 
    • Arrive just prior to scheduled time as visit will start promptly at the scheduled time.  NOTE, if you are late arriving and starting your visit, your visit CANNOT be extended as all visits are for specific time periods and therefore cannot be extended into another time slot.  Your visit will end at the pre-determined time within the time slot reserved.

Cost

  • Onsite visitation is provided at no cost to the visitor or the inmate within specific visiting times.
  • Offsite visitation is provided by HomeWav at a small cost to the visitor as noted on www.homewav.com and is available most hours that onsite visitation is not available.  Cost of an offsite visitation session can many times be cheaper than driving to the Correctional Center as well as ease of use, making it the preferred method for many.
